Nebraska Appleseed filed a federal class action lawsuit accusing the state of cutting thousands off Medicaid without due process. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Gillian Filyaw and other Nebraskans who lost Medicaid coverage after pandemic-era protections ended. The nonprofit claims more than 22,000 enrollees received termination notices with the same "income exceeds standards" reason without adequate explanation, causing unconstitutional deprivation of due process rights.
