Judge William Jung rejected Florida's lawsuit against federal guidelines protecting children's health insurance.

Judge William Jung rejected Florida's lawsuit against federal guidelines that prevent states from cutting off subsidized child health insurance coverage for non-payment of premiums, after children are deemed eligible for the program. The judge stated that Florida must challenge the guidelines through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, rather than through district court. Florida is the only state opposing the recent law, which safeguards children under 19 from losing insurance for at least a year after enrolling in Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
