The University of Auckland ranks 13th globally for sustainability in the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, moving up from 12th in 2023. The university improved its performance against several Sustainable Development Goals, and is an official hub for SDG 4, Quality Education, appointed by the United Nations Academic Impact. A record 1,963 institutions participated this year, up from 1,591 in 2023 and 768 in 2020.
