India's health minister, Jagat Prakash Nadda, has returned to his previous roles as Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers in India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new cabinet. Nadda praised the healthcare sector as the backbone of the country and emphasized the importance of extending Ayushman Bharat coverage for the elderly. His focus will also be on expanding the base of Ayushman Bharat, rebuilding trust in the education system, fully operationalizing AIIMS institutions, and continuing drug quality improvement.
