Health Minister JP Nadda urged state governments to increase their spending on healthcare infrastructure during a debate on the demand for grants for the health and family welfare ministry in the Lok Sabha. Nadda highlighted India's health budget increase of 164% since 2014 and listed the government's healthcare achievements, including increasing medical college numbers, reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, and early disease screening initiatives. He criticized states for spending only 1,806 crore out of a 4,200 crore budgetary allocation last year and announced that Rs 3,200 crore has been earmarked for PM-ABHIM this year.
