The fire began at 8:15 a.m. and several residents, including many elderly, were rescued from balconies. Two firefighters were taken to a hospital due to heat exhaustion but were in stable condition. The Temple Court apartment complex, housing many elderly residents, was affected, with some residents being relocated to a staging area for assistance. Smoke from the fire also impacted Interstate 95 and downtown Miami. The cause of the fire and injuries are still under investigation.
