ESA discovers water frost near Mars' equator on tallest volcanoes, challenging previous assumptions about Martian climate.
European Space Agency (ESA) researchers have discovered water frost on Mars' tallest volcanoes near the planet's equator, challenging previous assumptions about the Martian climate. This marks the first time frost has been spotted near the planet's equator, suggesting that ice is not solely confined to the Martian poles and that water ice is far more abundant across the planet than previously realised. The discovery was made by ESA's ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) and Mars Express.
