Liberal Democrats pledge free personal care for older/disabled at home if in government, funded by reversing bank tax cuts.
The Liberal Democrats have pledged to offer free personal care to older or disabled people at home if they form the next government. Leader Sir Ed Davey claims this pledge, along with raising care workers' pay, would end the hospital crisis and help people stay in their own homes. The party plans to fund the initiative by reversing tax cuts given to big banks by the Conservatives, covering an estimated £2.7bn cost by 2028-29.
