Nigeria's Labour Congress (NLC) plans to work with media stakeholders to negotiate a uniform salary template for journalists in Nigeria. NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, also condemned the arbitrary detention of journalists by security agents. He called for better pay, insurance cover, and pension for journalists, stating that their welfare is underplayed despite the risks and sacrifices they make in nation building.
