China and five Central Asian nations will establish a China-Central Asia emergency management cooperation mechanism by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) this month. The countries involved – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan – face high risks of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and forest fires. The upcoming meeting in Urumqi will review cooperation in disaster prevention, mitigation, relief, production safety, and comprehensive emergency rescue.
