China and five Central Asian nations (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) have established a China-Central Asia emergency management cooperation mechanism following a ministerial meeting in Urumqi. The six countries signed a memorandum of understanding, approved an action plan for emergency management cooperation from 2024-2026, and announced the creation of a working group for China-Central Asia emergency management. The mechanism aims to deepen mutual beneficial and practical cooperation among the nations, according to China's Ministry of Emergency Management.
