Botswana, with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), launched the National Apiculture Strategy to improve honey production. The plan will run until 2027 and aims to promote sustainable beekeeping practices through a scientific roadmap and measurable targets. Botswana currently produces only 13% of its national honey demand, with the remaining supply imported from South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
