Botswana, with FAO, launches National Apiculture Strategy (2021-27) to improve honey production and promote sustainable beekeeping.

Botswana, with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), launched the National Apiculture Strategy to improve honey production. The plan will run until 2027 and aims to promote sustainable beekeeping practices through a scientific roadmap and measurable targets. Botswana currently produces only 13% of its national honey demand, with the remaining supply imported from South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
