Locals in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, are combating forest fires by converting pine needles, prone to ignition, into various products. The Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission and Self Help Groups women are implementing this approach, with support from NABARD. A training program empowers 30 women to make products from pine needles, providing self-employment and reducing the risk of forest fires.
