Nigeria's Senate has initiated an investigation into 11,866 abandoned government projects across the country. Senator Jimoh Ibrahim presented a motion, citing a 2011 Presidential committee report identifying these projects since Nigeria's independence in 1960. The Senate's ad-hoc committee on abandoned projects will recommend actions to reduce project abandonment and propose ways to revive them.
