Edmonton's 10-year homelessness strategy is being updated, aiming to reach "Functional Zero" and reduce homelessness to rare, brief, and non-recurring cases. The updated plan includes ten draft recommendations, such as involving more sectors, embedding Indigenous culture in programs, and improving shelter quality. Since the start of the pandemic, homelessness and deaths have risen exponentially in the city. The updated plan will be launched in June.
