Electric utility ComEd is preparing for potential power outages due to severe storms with strong winds and potential tornadoes expected in the Chicago area on May 21. ComEd is opening its Emergency Operations Center and has extra crews on hand to deal with any outages. Customers are advised to take precautions, including not approaching downed power lines and contacting ComEd directly for outage reports.
