9-year-old Dylan Cope died after being sent home from a hospital with suspected flu, despite showing a symptom of appendicitis. Dylan was initially taken to Grange Hospital in Cwmbran, South Wales, on December 6, 2022, after experiencing abdominal pain. He was diagnosed with the flu and sent home with a leaflet about coughs and colds, but his condition worsened, and he died on December 14 of sepsis. An inquest is examining whether Dylan's appendicitis could or should have been picked up earlier.
