13-week UK pub chain Wetherspoon reports 5.2% increase in like-for-like sales due to higher demand for Guinness and traditional ales.

UK pub chain Wetherspoon reports a 5.2% increase in like-for-like sales for the 13 weeks to April 28. The rise is attributed to increased demand for Guinness from younger customers and a revival in traditional ales. Wetherspoon has removed 18 drinks from its menu and introduced new food items, including Ramen noodle bowls and Shawarma chicken wraps, to compete with popular dining chains. The company aims to open 1,000 sites in the next decade.
