The search for a missing Raglan fisherman, who activated an emergency beacon off the coast on 23 April, has been suspended. The fisherman reported via Maritime Radio that he had crossed the Raglan bar safely and encountered a medical event, leading to the beacon activation. A search involving the National Police Dive Squad, New Zealand Navy, Coastguard, and a fixed-wing aircraft was conducted, but the man was not found. The investigation, reported to the Coroner, is ongoing, and police remain in contact with the man's family.
