4,791 feral horses culled in Kosciuszko National Park.

The NSW government has culled 4,791 feral horses in Kosciuszko National Park since October, while rehoming advocates push for rehoming as an alternative. With a natural growth rate of 18%, rehoming challenges include limited resources, stress from trapping and transport, and allegations that 250 rehomed horses were sent to an alleged illegal knackery. Despite these challenges, the RSPCA supports rehoming and fertility control as potential alternatives to aerial shooting.
