Mindgrove Technologies, an IIT-M start-up, has launched India's first indigenously designed microcontroller chip, called 'Secure IoT'. Based on the open-source RISC-V architecture, the chip is designed for IoT devices and is expected to cost 30% less than other chips in similar segments. The chip was designed and manufactured in eight months, faster than industry standards of two to three years.
