Solomon Islands PM Manasseh Sogavare withdraws from PM race.

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, a pro-Beijing leader, announced he will not stand for renomination following the country's parliamentary elections. Sogavare's party won 15 of 50 parliamentary seats, while the opposition CARE coalition won 20. The Prime Minister's party will now support former Foreign Minister Jeremiah Manele as their candidate for Prime Minister. The election results have drawn attention from China, the US, and Australia, as the outcome could impact regional security.
