Infoblox Inc., a leading cloud networking and security services provider, has discovered "Muddling Meerkat", a likely Chinese state actor with the ability to control China's Great Firewall (GFW), a system that censors and manipulates internet traffic. This DNS threat actor is sophisticated in bypassing traditional security measures through large volumes of widely distributed DNS queries, using open DNS resolvers for propagation. Infoblox used its deep understanding of DNS to discover this cyberthreat.
