The Australian Government has awarded $18.4 million to the University of Sydney to establish Quantum Australia and grow the quantum industry and ecosystem in the country. Australia consistently ranks within the top five countries for high-impact quantum research and quantum computing patents. Concurrently, the federal and Queensland governments plan to invest $1 billion in US-based company PsiQuantum to build the world's first commercial-scale quantum computer in Brisbane, as part of Anthony Albanese's Future Made in Australia agenda.
