On Apr 27, a Vernal, Utah police officer was shot by a suspect during a call about an intoxicated man with a firearm. The suspect fired at officers and their vehicles, hitting the officer multiple times. The officer drove himself to a local hospital; suspect and officer were both later flown to the Wasatch Front for treatment. A sheriff deputy sustained minor injuries. The Utah State Bureau of Investigations is handling the case.
