Tornadoes caused extensive damage in Nebraska and Iowa, injuring at least three people and damaging hundreds of homes and buildings. The tornadoes hit the suburbs northwest of Omaha, Nebraska particularly hard, with strong tornadoes destroying homes and structures, mostly in the Elkhorn area. Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds have directed state resources to assist with emergency response and support local first responders.
