French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit Germany in May for an extended stay, aiming to strengthen EU ties and unity with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The state visit from May 26-28 may be followed by another trip in June. Macron and Scholz plan to implement an EU capital markets union, reduce single market bureaucracy, and possibly participate in a Weimar Triangle meeting, involving France, Germany, and Poland, in June.
