French President Emmanuel Macron warns of growing fascination for authoritarianism in the EU and calls for an alliance of democrats during his state visit to Germany.

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for the defence of democracy during his first state visit to Germany in a quarter-century, warning of a "form of fascination for authoritarianism which is growing" in the EU.
