58-year-old Joseph Leonard from West Islip died in police custody after a drug-related arrest in Bay Shore, Suffolk. Leonard was found unconscious in his car and later charged with drug-impaired driving and possession. He was held overnight and found unresponsive in his cell the next morning. The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Internal Affairs Bureau are investigating the circumstances, with an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
