50-year-old Paul Brown, a suspected drug trafficker, was arrested in Benidorm after a four-year manhunt by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Spanish National Police. Brown, with no fixed address, was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs following the takedown of the encrypted communications platform Encrochat in 2020. Brown was traced and captured as he checked into a hotel in the city, and efforts are underway to extradite him back to the UK to face his charges.
