Kenyan President William Ruto signed the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2024 into law, renaming Utamaduni Day as Mazingira Day, observed on October 10 for environmental conservation activities. The bill also strengthens human resource operations in the Attorney-General's office, amends the Traffic Act to incorporate technology in managing minor traffic offenses, and amends the Universities Act to give the President the power to establish specialized degree-awarding institutions for national security issues.
