ECOWAS allocates $25m in 2024 to combat terrorism in Nigeria, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, with $4m dedicated to humanitarian action to address consequences of terrorism and natural disasters. In addition, ECOWAS spent $26m on humanitarian activities between 2023 and 2024, supporting sport federations with $100k each per year and training 30 young people from the region in Masters and doctoral programs with $700k.
