1M people in violent Burkina Faso received aid from UN World Food Programme with US donating $124M this year.

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has delivered vital aid to over one million people in Burkina Faso this year, amid ongoing instability and violence. Enhanced by the UN Humanitarian Air Service, the aid includes food and nutrition support. The U.S. has contributed $124 million for 2024, covering 70% of WFP’s funding in the country. The assistance comes as approximately 2.7 million people face critical food shortages.
