The Democratic Alliance (DA) has initiated a motion in Parliament, proposing the establishment of a temporary joint committee to investigate the significant 70% raise in Secretary to Parliament, Xolile George's, salary in 2022. The DA claims that no inquiry has been conducted by other parliamentary bodies regarding the salary increase, authorized by former National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and National Council of Provinces Chair Amos Masondo.
