Ghana MP Ablakwa accuses GNPC board members, including CEO Opoku, of increasing allowances by 150% in 2022 amid Ghana's economic crisis.

Ghanaian MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa accused GNPC board members, including CEO Opoku Ahweneeh Danquah, of increasing their allowances by over 150% in 2022 despite Ghana's economic crisis. Ablakwa shared documents revealing that daily hotel allowances were increased from $400 to $1000, while per diem for the Board Chairman rose from $500 to $850. Ablakwa plans to propose legislation to regulate State-Owned Enterprises' boards and CEOs in determining their salaries and allowances without parliamentary approval.
