Chinese scientists have developed an AI platform that doubles the detection rate for early-stage esophageal cancer, using deep learning algorithms on 190,000 esophageal images. The AI system, tested on over 3,000 participants, showed high sensitivity and specificity of 89.7% and 98.5%. Less experienced endoscopists can use the system to enhance detection rates, potentially reducing missed diagnoses.
