Chinese researchers develop AI tool (TORCH) that predicts tumor origins with high accuracy, rivaling or surpassing human pathologists. The tool, trained on cytological images from 57,220 cases, helps identify malignant tumors in fluids in chest and abdomen. Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) site, accounting for 3-5% of cancers, presents challenges due to its elusive nature, with only 20% of CUP patients achieving a median survival of 10 months.
