18-year-old Riley Strain, a University of Missouri student, was found dead in Nashville's Cumberland River after texting his mother about an odd-tasting drink at a bar.
Riley Strain's mother, Michelle Whiteid, revealed that her son texted her about his drink tasting odd the night he went missing in Nashville. Strain, a University of Missouri senior, was reported missing on March 8 after being kicked out of a bar and later found dead in the Cumberland River. Whiteid said her son ordered a rum and coke but it "didn't taste good." She asked him not to drink it, following which he said it tasted "like barbecue." Strain's mother believes there may have been something in his drink that shouldn't have been.
