The documents reveal that Menendez's lawyers plan to argue that the senator was unaware of any crimes as a result of his wife's actions. The couple is accused of accepting bribes of cash, gold bars, and a car to aid three businessmen and the Egyptian government. Menendez's trial is scheduled to begin May 6.
