Kenyan President Ruto unveils a compensation program and electric fences to address human-wildlife conflicts.

Kenyan President William Ruto launches a compensation program to help victims of wildlife attacks rebuild their lives and cover medical expenses. The program, called the Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation and Compensation Scheme, aims to foster peaceful coexistence between locals and wildlife. The government plans to erect 350-km-long electric fences in hotspots across the country to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts, and compensate 7,000 Kenyans owed $26 million within 60 days.
