Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is urging Scotland to become the world's first rewilding nation, joining the Scottish Rewilding Alliance's call for the country to boost conservation strategies, restore wildlife, and improve local lives. DiCaprio shared the message of the Scottish Rewilding Alliance, a coalition of over 20 nature organizations, on his Instagram page, with the post currently having over 48,000 likes. The Scottish Government has previously stated that it is working to unlock the potential of restoration projects and has committed £65 million to a nature restoration fund.
