NCAA President Charlie Baker aims for women's basketball teams to receive financial compensation like men's teams from the 2024-25 season onwards. The current system rewards men's teams with financial performance dollars, called units, which can earn millions depending on their tournament performance. Baker said a new eight-year deal with ESPN worth $115 million per year for 40 sports was signed.
