Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) must repay the Canadian government $8M after a CRA audit found it ineligible for Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), a program intended to support businesses during pandemic-related shutdowns. Economic Development Regina also faces repayment of $918,000. Both organizations have requested interest waivers, but may seek city assistance to meet their repayment obligations.
