In Tripura, India, a suspected smuggler was killed and another injured after BSF personnel opened fire on suspected smugglers along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura's Sepahijala district. The police identified the deceased as Saheed Miah and the injured as Kabil Miah. BSF noticed smugglers near the border and opened fire in self-defense after a scuffle broke out when they tried to intervene. Additional forces have been deployed to avoid escalation of tension in the area.
