5 CIT robbery suspects killed, 8 arrested in gun battle with Mpumalanga police in Witbank.
Five cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery suspects were killed in a gun battle with Mpumalanga police in Tasbet Park, Witbank. Police had received information about the suspects and followed them to a safe house where a shootout erupted. Eight other suspects were arrested, while nine managed to escape. The suspects will be charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of prohibited and unlicensed firearms, and CIT-related offenses.
