China's Maerdang Hydropower Station, the highest-altitude facility of its kind, connected to the grid in Qinghai Province. Located at 3,300 meters, the station has an installed capacity of 2.32 million kilowatts and is part of the "west-to-east power transmission" project. Once fully operational, it will generate 7.3 billion kWh of electricity annually and significantly reduce carbon emissions.
