47-year-old Tony Rebecca Hoyt of Lake Charles died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday night at the intersection of Opelousas Street and Mitchell Drive. The crash occurred when Hoyt, who was not wearing a seatbelt, lost control of his Jeep, hit a mailbox and a culvert. Louisiana State Police urged the use of seatbelts, citing it as the most effective way to reduce crash injuries.
