4 Herts residents have been sentenced for TV licence offences since the start of the year, collectively paying £688. TV licence fee will rise by 6.7% on April 1st to £169.50 from £159. The government claims this increase is "in line with inflation". Discounts are available for certain groups, including the visually impaired, those in certain residential care, and over 75s receiving Pension Credit.
