BBC considers reforming funding model due to government freeze and inflationary pressures.

BBC Director-General Tim Davie says the corporation is considering reforming its funding model due to a government freeze and inflationary pressures. The annual licence fee, paid by every UK household with a TV, has been frozen at £159 for two years and will rise to £169.50 from April. However, the BBC has warned that the increase is not enough to prevent further job losses and cuts. Davie stated that the BBC will proactively research how it will reform the licence fee post-2028, when the current charter agreement ends.
