Japan expands foreign skilled worker visa program to include four new industries, addressing driver shortage and aiming to admit up to 820,000 foreigners over the next five fiscal years, more than double the past five years' estimate. New industries include road and railway transportation, and forestry and timber sectors. This is the first expansion since the system's introduction in 2019.
